UPGRADES/PRICING

 

Base price is 1400.00.  This includes shipping within the U.S.. Hard cases are listed below.

Here is a list of some possible upgrades. This list is for Karlin models, and some other models that are currently in prototype stage. (Coming soon!) One offs, and client created designs may not apply.

1. Finish..    

   a. Tru-oil, or any oil finish- Included in base price

   b. Clear laquer, gloss or satin- 150.00

   c. Clear laquer, with stain, or shading 200.00 +   

   d. Solid color, Wont do it to my guitars!

   (please note...I am currently primarily using oil finishes. I have and will again in the future be using laquer, but for the time being only set up to do oil finishes. Oil is better for transfer of sound, and is MUCH easier to repair than laquer. )

2. Wood choices..

    a. Woods, such as Mahogony, maple, ash, Walnut, poplar, and alder,- included in base price.

    b. Any high quality, exotic, or musical grade wood that I happen to have laying around the shop, that maybe is leftover from another project, or came to me in some other way that makes it convenient for your build. Lucky you! Its free.

    c. Any high quality, exotic, or musical grade wood that I have to search for, and pay for, Not free Call for details.

3. Neck laminations.....

    a. 3 lam. neck...Included in base price

    b. 5 lam. neck .... add 75.00

    c. 7 lam neck... ...add 100.00

    d. Headstock veneer....incl in price

    e. Laminated truss rod cover...Incl. in price!

4. Body laminations...........

    a. two piece joined body (same wood) no extra charge.

    b. Two wood body ,  (top and back) 75.00 + (Depending on wood used)

    c. Solid one piece body....Depends on availability.

    d. Three piece body, with top, core and back, 150.00 + (Depending on wood used)

     e. center accent stripes, 35.00 each (depending on wood type)

Construction style......

a. Set neck.....Incl in price

b.  Bolt on neck....Not done on Karlins, but can be done on other models..Incl in price.

c. Neck through.....Not done on Karlins, but on other models, add $250.00

d. More upper fret access....already pretty darn good, but if you need more just ask.

Hardware.....

a. Chrome, or nickel  No Charge

b. Black ....35.00

c. Gold.....50.00

d. Schaller or Gotoh bridges are used in these guitars. Both are incl. in price!

e. Custom handmade JG tailpiece...100.00 (string through, otherwise.)

f. Custom handmade JG tailpiece with brass string insert....125.00

g. Additional hardware .... I already use High quality hardware. I would never dream of putting low quality stuff in these guitars. If you absolutely cannot live without a certain brand, or differently functioning item, I will consider it, assuming it fits my guitars design peramiters. (Oh yeah, you have to pay for it, too.)

Personalization....

   a. Inlay work.. just a little something on the 12th fret...100.00+

    b. Full fret board, or more involved inlay work,  200.00+

    c. Lazer ingraveing.....I have a source. Call for quote.

Electronics....

    a. handwound JG pickups..Incl. in price.

    b.  STAN HINESELY  HANDWOUND PICKUPS!  add $45.00 per pickup.   NEW!!!!!!

    c. Other brands,  at cost of pickups.

    d. Humbuckers only in Karlin models. single coils can be discussed in other models.

    e. Standard wiring setup with master volume, two master tones, and push pull coil split.. Included in price.

    f. Alterations to wiring. (without additional routing/woodwork)....25.00 per component

    g.  Alterations to wiring  (With additional routing/woodwork).....50.00 + per component

     h.  Completely different setup (or custom) 100 +

Other cool stuff....

    a. Hand made wooden pickup rings....add $25.00 per ring, or $45.00 per set  NEW!!!!!!!

    b. Strap-locks... add 50.00

    c. Wood Knobs.....add 35.00

    d.  Pickup covers....add  35.00

    e.  Zebra colored coils     No Charge!

     f.  Quality hard case....75.00 for economy, (but not bad!) and 100.00 for the nice plush one.

If you can think of any thing else that would add to help build the perfect guitar for you, I am more than willing to listen. I will not do any thing that takes away from what these guitars are. These guitars are not actually based off of any other guitars. What I have done is taken the elements needed to build a great playing guitar, and built upon that in my own direction. Change them too much, and they become something else. In that case, they may not be for you. But if you are willing to try something different, beautiful, organic, and comfortable, they are perfect.
