Here are some links to folks who have helped along the way. I just wanted to thank all of them for the support, and guidance that helped make it possible for me to do what I do.
#1. Birdsong Guitars. http://www.birdsongguitars.com Thank you Scott and Jaime, for everything! These guys Know there stuff! They are the folks to see about a great Pro quality short scale bass! I really look forward to going up there and helping out from time to time. Not only have I learned a lot from them, They are also just great people to be around. Spend a couple hours with them, and everything just seems better. Just good folks in general.
#2. Beans and rice. http://www.myspace.com/beansricetx "Funny Name, Serious bandwich" No seriously, these guys are good. Every one of their guitars has been through my shop, whether it needed to or not. They are also playing the "road test" Karlin. The two guitar players take turns playing it live, and in practice. I told them to do there worst to it, while trying to hold back a tear! I must say, it has held up well! Especially since these guys tear it up with their instruments! If you like blues / classic rock, that is played with heart and soul, Check these guys out! Aside from doing work for them, they are also really great friends, and I enjoy me a good B.N.R. show. Thanks guys, and keep up the good work!
#3. Bill Douglas. http://www.douglasdesigns.webs.com This guy is cool. He does home remodeling, lutherie, wood craft, and other great stuff of the artistic variety. If you want your place to look like noone elses, he is the guy to talk to. He is also just a nice person in general. The first time he came by, he brought me a nice piece of canary wood, and a beautiful chunk of figured mesquite, that I turned into a guitar top. He's also great for talking about guitars, and the building of such. He builds them too! Always a great source of advice, and looking out for his fellow man! Thanks Bill!
#4. Stan Hinesly pickups. www.StanHinesleyPickups.com Maker of fine hand wound pickups. I will be working with him alot from here on in, and putting his great sounding pickups in my guitars. I still offer pickups I wind myself, if that's something you prefer, but hey, I build guitars, and this guy makes pickups! This will give me more time to concentrate on the guitars themselves, and focus on more important things. (maybe even speed up my already small wait times!) Thanks, Stan!
#5. Katy Guitar Fest. www.KatyGuitarFest.com I will be attending this convention in December, so be sure to check it out if you are in the Katy/ Houston area! I will have a few Karlins, and hopefully a bass or two to show ya!
